My Happy Place

Shortly before the pandemic started, I started hearing about a new restaurant opening near me and its name was to be The Anvil Pub and Grill. The idea behind it was to have a British Pub feel with a Southern twist.

This really appealed to me as we had been watching a lot of British shows on Amazon and the thought of having a pub nearby to hang out at and enjoy is something that has always interested me.

Well, the pandemic started and yeah, don’t get me started.

We finally were able to go one day and just go for their fish and chips. Which was really tasty! Then I saw that they were going to do Sunday Brunch. Well you don’t need to say anything else. I’m hooked!

So would start the weekly ritual of going to the Anvil for brunch after church. When we started going, I typically went back and forth between the Full English Breakfast and a dish they called Anvil Hash. But then they started doing Sunday specials. I’m always up for trying out new dishes so I found myself starting to become a full on foodie by taking pictures and posting them to social media.

The Anvil really has become my happy place because of the people who work there. I think I know almost all of the servers by name and they know me. I have been known to go during the week after work, get an Anvil burger or the fish and chips and a good beer. They do a lunch from 11-2, bar food from 2-4, and then a dinner menu at night. That’s the only time I don’t get there as much is the dinner meal. But the times I have? I’m drooling just thinking about the meals that I have had.

The Anvil is a proud supporter of Liverpool FC. I have never been much of a soccer fan in my life but the more I go and see games on the Telly while I’m there, the more I have come to truly appreciate the game. And I have seen the place on big game days! Especially since Liverpool is one of the top teams right now.

I probably make a few people very hungry every time I post my pictures from the Anvil. I can think of a number of people that I would love to share a drink or a meal with here. It’s locally owned and I always want to support a locally owned restaurant over the chains.

To the Anvil, thank you for the great food and the atmosphere and, most importantly, the people!

Now, to make you hungry.
